I've just returned from teaching an EMBO course in Rio de Janeiro, with a fine group of teachers/friends and great students. I strongly recommend taking courses to places where they increase the opportunities for students disadvantaged by geography. They are always really appreciated and it helps to build international connections, contributing to science's important role as a truly human endeavour conducted by all peoples for the benefit of all peoples.
